OPAA JM Cheer Places 7th Nationally!!!
Congratulations to the OPAA Junior Midget Cheer Team for a 7th place finish at the Pop Warner National Cheer and Dance Championship on December 7, 2011 at Disney's Wide World of Sports in Orlando. This group of hard working, dedicated girls represented OPAA as they competed against 12 other teams from all across the USA. These girls had the opportunity to compete at Nationals as a result of their outstanding 1st Place finish at the SE Regional Cheer Competition!!
Congratulations to the 2011 OPAA Junior Pee Wee Cheer Team for a 2nd Place finish at the First Coast Cheer Competition!! This group of hard working, dedicated girls also represented OPAA at the Pop Warner Regional Cheer and Dance Championship on November 25, 2011 where they competed against 18 other teams.

Participant's
age on July 31st of current year shall be the participant's
age for the coming season.
Season Begins in August Each team plays 8 season games unless they place in the
playoffs. Season may last into December.
Assignment of Teams Cheerleaders will be assigned to teams on the basis of age. Teams
shall consist of up to 35 members. Each team is required to have one
adult for every 12 team members. All cheerleaders, Tiny Mites through Midget, will be wearing the same uniform.
Parental Financial Obligation
Other than the registration fee, paid to the
association, financial obligations are the responsibility of the
parents. Uniforms must be neat and in good repair for the
duration of the season.

Following Items Pep Rally Shirt Shorts Sport Cheer Socks Bloomers Cheerleading Shoes* (selected by cheer coordinator)
*Additional
cheerleading shoes may be purchased by the parent Skirt, Shell, and Unifit Hair Accessory - Bows
Cheerleading is a team sport that
requires FULL participation from everyone. If your child is
involved in other activities that will not allow her to attend all
practice days and games, please do not register her for cheerleading.
Practice Information

Practice begins in August
-
All squads will practice 8 -
10 hours per week, Monday thru Friday until Labor Day.
-
After Labor Day, squads can
practice 6 hours per week until the end of the
season.

Every cheerleader must attend all
practices.

There are specific guidelines for
excused absences
-
If cheerleader has 3 or more
unexcused absences, they will not be permitted to compete and may be
dismissed from the team
Game Information
-
All games are played on Saturday
-
There is an admission charge for
all spectators (including parents)
-
Half of our games will be home
and half will be away
-
All cheerleaders are responsible
for their own transportation
-
Cheerleaders are required to
attend all games and any post season games
