OPAA is run completely by volunteers.  If you would be
interested in serving on the following committee,

Committee Chairperson

 

  • The President of the Association shall chair the Committee.
  • Other members shall be the Commissioners of the leagues or divisions of the athletic program involved.
  • The Committee must provisionally approve all Coaches and Assistants for all athletic programs.
  • Formal Coaching Applications must be submitted to the Committee prior to the start of each athletic program.  Returning Managers and Coaches must submit a new application.
  • The Committee shall screen all applicants on the basis of:
    a.  Previous experience and record
    b.  Knowledge of the sport
    c.  Leadership and organizational ability
    d.  Judged willingness and ability to promote the objectives of the Association
    e.  Moral character
    f.  A criminal background check will be run on each Coach and Manager every two years.
  • The Screening Committee will submit a roster of screened applicants to the Board for approval.  The roster shall indicate those applicants to be approved under probationary status.
  • The President will keep coaching applications and evaluation forms on file.
  • Specific procedures for assignment of Managers and Coaches are outlined in the Bylaws under Instructional and Competitive League Rules.
